Learning to Be Loved by God

30 SEP 2026

Hello everyone. This is my last Sunday service with you all.

In the blink of an eye, my time, it’s already been almost three months in COOS OSAKA.

Today I want to end by sharing what I am most thankful to God for.

For example, The chance to give gifts freely. Learning to care better for my mental health. What it means to intentionally love someone. And happiest of all, meeting all of you.

But my biggest takeaway was learning to accept who I am.

For a long time, I believed who I am would never be enough.

When I was young, I thought if I studied hard enough, or was a good enough child, my dad would stay. I thought if I could be better, he wouldn’t want to leave.

But that didn’t happen. I improved the most. I got into the best class. I won awards.

And still, my parents got divorced.

For so long, I felt that being myself was never enough. So I changed. I became what everyone wanted me to be.

I tried to please others, to fit them. But I was never happy. The mask I wore was tiring. I carried it so long, I forgot how to be myself.

Then I came to Japan. I met a community that wasn’t interested in how well I played my part. They just wanted to see me as I am.

That’s when I realized how hard it is to accept who I am. For years, I tried to polish off my rough edges, just to be like everyone else.

But in Christ, there is no condemnation. He calls me his workmanship. I am so loved that Jesus was sent to die for me on the cross.

Jesus still chose to die for me knowing that if I lived in his time, I would have been in the crowd calling for his death. Because I would have wanted to be just like everyone else. And still, he chooses to love me.

But God isn’t just accepting. He has a plan to prosper me. A plan to make me more like him.

He isn’t willing to let my weaknesses hold me back forever. As I follow him, I am becoming free, free from the fear of rejection, free from needing others’ approval.

I am learning to accept the person I see in the mirror.

Because God loved me first. And all the brokenness in me, he will help me fix、 slowly but surely.

God doesn’t promise a problem-free life. But he offers something greater. He promises to walk with us.

This journey is tiring. It’s infuriating. Sometimes it feels hopeless. But God offers the perfect solution: perfect acceptance, and a plan to make us who we were made to be

Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you till the end of the age.”

Knowing he is with me gives me the confidence to face life, one day at a time.

Thank you for welcoming me here in Osaka.
Till we meet again!
